Privacy Policy

Effective May 2026

At Predatours, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your data when you interact with us — whether by booking a tour, visiting our website, subscribing to our updates, or communicating with our team.

This policy is issued in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 (No. 24 of 2019) and is designed to ensure your personal data is handled lawfully, fairly, and transparently.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to arrange and deliver your travel experience. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

      • Full name, nationality, date of birth, and gender
      • Contact details (email address, phone number, postal address)
      • Passport details (number, expiry date, issuing country) — required for flight bookings, park entry permits, and visa coordination
      • Travel preferences, dietary requirements, medical conditions, and mobility or fitness information relevant to your tour
      • Payment and billing information (processed securely through our payment providers)
      • Emergency contact details
      • Feedback, reviews, or correspondence you share with us
      • Website usage data including cookies, IP address, browser type, and pages visited (see Section 8 below)

    3. How We Use Your Information

Your personal data is used for the following purposes:

        • To confirm, arrange, and manage your bookings, including accommodation, flights, ground transport, park fees, and guided activities
        • To communicate with you about your journey — itinerary updates, payment confirmations, pre-departure information, and travel documentation
        • To personalise your experience based on your preferences, dietary needs, and any medical or fitness considerations you have shared
        • To meet legal, regulatory, insurance, and safety requirements
        • To process payments securely
        • To send you marketing communications about upcoming tours, expeditions, and offers — only where you have opted in or where we have a legitimate interest (you may unsubscribe at any time)
        • To improve our services and website based on feedback and usage data
        • To use photographs and videos from tours for marketing purposes, subject to the opt-out provisions in our Terms and Conditions

      4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, we process your personal data on the following lawful bases:

          • Contract: Processing is necessary to fulfil our booking agreement with you — arranging your tour, coordinating with suppliers, and delivering the services you have paid for.
          • Consent: Where you have given explicit consent, for example by subscribing to our newsletter, submitting an enquiry form, or consenting to the use of photographs.
          • Legitimate interest: Where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests (such as improving our services or preventing fraud), provided these do not override your rights and freedoms.
          • Legal obligation: Where we are required to process data to comply with Kenyan law or regulatory requirements.

        5. Who We Share Your Information With

We may share relevant personal information with the following categories of third parties, solely for the purpose of arranging and delivering your journey:

            • Accommodation providers (hotels, lodges, tented camps) included in your booking
            • Airlines and charter flight operators for ticketing and manifests
            • Ground transport providers and driver-guides
            • Park and conservancy authorities where required for permits, entry fees, or registration
            • Government and immigration authorities where required for visa processing or border entry
            • Secure payment processors for handling transactions
            • Insurance providers in the event of a claim or emergency

All third parties we work with are expected to handle your data responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection standards. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

          6. International Data Transfers

As a tour operator arranging travel across multiple countries, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside Kenya — including countries where your tour takes place and where our accommodation, airline, and transport partners are based.

Where your data is transferred to a country that does not have equivalent data protection laws, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected through contractual arrangements with our partners and suppliers.

          7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. In practice, this means:

              • Booking and travel records: retained for 7 years after the completion of your tour, to meet accounting, tax, and legal obligations under Kenyan law.
              • Marketing preferences: retained until you unsubscribe or request removal.
              • Website analytics data: retained in anonymised form and not linked to your personal identity.
              • Passport and sensitive documents: deleted within 90 days of the completion of your journey, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 9 below). We will comply unless we are legally required to retain it.

            8. Cookies and Website Data

Our website (www.predatours.com) may use cookies and similar technologies to improve your browsing experience, analyse website traffic, and understand how visitors use our site.

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The types of cookies we may use include:

                • Essential cookies: required for the website to function (e.g. session management).
                • Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors interact with our site (e.g. pages visited, time on site). These are anonymised and do not identify you personally.
                • Marketing cookies: used to deliver relevant content and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. These are only set with your consent.

You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of our website.

              9. Your Rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

                  • Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
                  • Right to rectification: You may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
                  • Right to erasure: You may request that we delete your personal data, subject to any legal obligations requiring us to retain it.
                  • Right to restrict processing: You may request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
                  • Right to object: You may object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes at any time.
                  • Right to data portability: You may request that we provide your data in a structured, commonly used format.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within 14 days, in accordance with the Act.

                10. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, or alteration. These measures include secure storage systems, encryption of sensitive data during transmission, and access controls limiting who within Predatours can view your information.

Only authorised Predatours staff and trusted third-party partners involved in your booking can access your personal data for legitimate business purposes.

                11. Children’s Data

Some Predatours journeys are suitable for families and educational groups that may include travellers under 18 years of age. Where we collect personal data relating to a minor, we do so with the consent of the parent or legal guardian who is responsible for the booking.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent. If you believe we hold data about a minor without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

                12. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including visa portals, accommodation providers, and social media platforms. These sites have their own privacy policies, and Predatours is not responsible for their content or data practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site before providing your personal information.

                13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the services we offer. Any significant changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

                14. Complaints

If you believe your personal data has been mishandled or that we have not complied with this policy or the Kenya Data Protection Act, you may:

                    • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), the independent authority responsible for enforcing data protection in Kenya: www.odpc.go.ke.
